HIROTAKO Malaysia — Calender + Mold Temperature Controller
Automotive NVH acoustic parts equipment delivered 2024
Project Photos

In 2024, MOCO supplied a 2-roll calender with integrated mold temperature controller to HIROTAKO Malaysia for automotive NVH (Noise, Vibration, Harshness) acoustic component production.
**The challenge:** HIROTAKO Malaysia produces NVH acoustic parts for Japanese automotive OEMs. Their existing process used an outdated heating system with temperature drift exceeding ±5°C across the calender rolls, causing inconsistent backing layer adhesion and a 15% rejection rate. They needed precision thermal control that could maintain process window without interrupting production.
**MOCO's solution:**
- 2-roll calender (Φ350mm × 1600mm), configured specifically for acoustic felt backing lamination
- Closed-loop PID-controlled oil heating system (OHP series mold temp controller, 12KW)
- Maintains ±1°C across both rolls with independent zone control
- Compact footprint designed to fit into existing production line layout
- CIF Port Klang delivery with full customs clearance
- MOCO engineer on-site for 7 days: integration, commissioning, operator handover
**Results:**
- Consistent ±1°C across all calender rolls — process capability improved from 0.8 to 1.4 Cpk
- Backing delamination defects eliminated — rejection rate dropped from 15% to under 2%
- Remote diagnostic capability via Siemens PLC web interface for ongoing support
- Line resumed full production within 48 hours of engineer's arrival
- Customer placed repeat order within 3 months — trust earned in a single project cycle
